Invisibobble: The Traceless Hair Ring | Review

Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring
Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring

 Hello lovelies!
Worried about those nasty kinks in your hair? Well fear no more, I have found the answer to kink free hair. It comes in the form of the Invisibobble. Long gone are the hair ties and kinks in my hair. Say hello to beautiful, soft, straight, kink-free locks.

The Invisibobble is described as a 'traceless hair ring' which means that it will not leave a imprint or kink in your hair at all and boy does it work wonders. Funnily enough they remind me a little of old telephone cords.

I have quite thin, short hair and I am always throwing my hair up in a ponytail or topknot to keep the hair out of the way and hair ties always seem to leave a dreadful kink in my hair every single time I remove them which I just loathe. They also pull on my hair and leave me with dreadful split ends. As you can imagine, it's not the best look.

The Invisibobbles come in a set of 3 in a variety of colours. I have been using them non stop since I purchased them from Boots(see my Boots haul here) and I am in love. I know it's not the most attractive looking hair accessory but I can see past that as it works brilliantly. I wrap the Invisibobble around my hair at least 3 times and it doesn't pull or tug on my hair and it slides out with ease without pulling any hair out or causing me pain. It also stays put in the hair, no more of that loose hair business so you don't have to keep putting your hair back.

When I remove the Invisibobble after a long day I put it away and it pings back to it's original shape and size as it's quite stretchy and flexible, it's pretty much like a spring. I don't see myself using another hair tie anytime soon, they're amazing.

You can purchase the Invisibobbles online here from Boots from just £3.75, not bad eh?

Have you tried the Invisibobbles?

Music I am loving this week #1

Hello lovelies!
Today I thought I would end the week with a rather different post, about Music. I thought I would make this a weekly or fortnightly post, please let me know what you think about it.
I am really into my music. In my spare time even when everyone is around you could find me singing away and belting out a few songs in my room, not to the greatest extent, I'm not the best singer but that doesn't matter. If you're good or bad then sing away to your hearts content.

I'm into all sorts of music except for punk, rock, indie etc. I guess you could say I am more of a rap, pop and r&b fan. I am really quite girly, I was completely obsessed with britney spears as a young girl, she was my idol, and she still is along with a few others.

Anyway, the very point of this post is to share with you all of the songs I am loving this week so let's get to it shall we?

Frozen- Let it Go

I finally watched Frozen the other day and I actually found myself being a little emotional while watching it. Yeah, I'm odd like that. It's such a great film, if you haven't watched it then you definitely should. There are so many great songs featured throughout the whole film but the song that I loved the most was 'Let it Go' by Idina Menzel. I have had it in my head ever since and it's still etched into my brain now. Even my boyfriend loves this film, he's got the 'Do you want to build a snowman?' song in his head pretty much 24/7.

Christina Perri- Human

Okay, so this is a bit of an 'old' song as it was released last year but I absolutely love it. It has so much emotion and passion in the song and you can really tell that Christina puts her heart into it. She has such a great and soulful voice and I must admit, it does make me a little emotional when listening to it as it can be related to so many situations.

Katy Perry- Dark Horse

One of my favourite female singers is of course the beautiful Katy Perry. I am loving her song 'Dark Horse' from her album Prism which also features a rap artist called 'Juicy J'. I don't know what it is about the song but I just love it. I really want her album, I'm disappointed I haven't got it at the moment but I mainly use Spotify to listen to my music.

Pixie Lott- Nasty

I always find myself wanting to dance and sing along to every single one of Pixie Lotts songs and this is no exception. It is a very upbeat song, I just love her voice.

Katy  B- Crying For No Reason

For weeks I had been listening to this song on the radio and I had absolutely no idea who sang it until my sister pointed it out for me. Katy B has the most beautiful voice and the song is exceptional.

James Blunt- Bonfire Heart

I admit I wasn't very keen on James Blunt's music as a youngster(except for the song 'You're Beautiful) but as I've gotten older I've learnt to love his music. I am absolutely loving the song 'Bonfire Heart' at the moment. I always find myself singing along to this, even when the boyfriends around. He even joins in with the singing sometimes, haha. It's a beautiful song and very very emotional. At least I find it emotional anyway, maybe it's just me.

What music or songs are you loving this week?

Illamasqua Easter Hunt Haul

Hello lovelies!
During the 5 day Easter weekend there were soo many sales going on online and I just couldn't resist it when I seen that Illamasqua was having a little Easter hunt going on, on there website. Each day there were 40% off certain products such as blush, lipsticks and eyeshadows. You had to hunt down the shades that were priced down in each section. It was so much fun and I picked out a few little goodies too which saved me so much money in the long run.

I haven't tried anything at all from Illamasqua before but I have wanted to for the longest time so the Easter hunt sale was the perfect opportunity to get things starteeed. I am so happy with what I got. I only received these on Wednesday afternoon and haven't tried anything out yet but I am looking forward to using them. At the moment they are packed into my muji storage, happy days.

Nail Polish in 'Harem'
Okay so I wasn't expecting to pick up a nail varnish but I just absolutely love this shade. It's the most gorgeous bright purple, it actually reminds me of the Barry M Berry Ice Cream Nail Paint but a slightly more expensive version. The nail polishes are normally £14.50 and I got this for just £8.50 so how could I resist eh? I can see myself using it a lot this Spring/Summer.

Powder Blusher in 'Hussy' | Link
I have wanted this blush for sooo long and I was so excited to see this in the Easter sale hunt. I was thinking of getting another blusher in the shade 'Lover' but decided against it. It's described as a bright candy pink but I'd say it's more of a slightly coral to pink toned blusher. This blusher was £12.00 in the sale so I saved £9.50, isn't that great?

Lipstick in 'Immodest' | Link
Surely you know my obsession with lipsticks by now. I'm forever purchasing them and I can't seem to stop it. This is the first lipstick that stood out for me when I was searching through all of the shades. It's the most beautiful vivid pink shade and I don't really have a pink lipstick that's as bright as this. I imagine it would look great with minimal makeup. Every lipstick I purchased was £10.00 down from £18.50 and I bought 3 of them, oops. I'm so terrible with saving money. The sad thing is I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

Lipstick in 'Flare' | Link
This was second in the lineup of Illamasqua lipsticks that I purchased. You can't really tell very well by the picture but it's a striking bright orange shade and I absolutely love it, although I am a little bit afraid that it won't suit me. I have been wanting a orange lipstick for a while so this seemed like the perfect time to purchase one. This one was also just £10.00.

Lipstick in 'Over' | Link
Last but not least in the lipstick lineup is the shade 'Over' which is a bright coral toned lipstick. I admittedly have more pink lipsticks than I have any other shades and I wanted to bring more coral toned lipsticks into my collection so this is where this lipstick comes in.

Overall I am sooo happy with what I purchased and I can't wait to try them all out.

Have you purchased anything from the Illamasqua Easter Hunt?

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser | Review

The Bodyshop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser
The Bodyshop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

Hello lovelies!
Over the last few weeks I have been trialling a few products(which you can see on this post here) including this, the Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser.
As someone with acne prone/oily skin I am instantly attracted to the body shops tea tree range. I have tried a number of products from their range including their foaming cleanser, face mask, toner and more which I was hugely impressed with so it felt right that I tried this out too.

The packaging is just a basic green squeezy tube that contains 30ml of product. I find that the squeezy tube packaging works great for me as I can squeeze out as much product as I like without wasting any.

The scent is of course Tea Tree, it's not a muted smell but not intense either. Once applied after a few minutes you can't really sense the smell.
I have used the tea tree pore minimiser as a primer and on a few occasions when I applied this I found that the product had developed into an almost weird texture and it started peeling off, it was soo strange. I have to say I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it, sometimes it just works for me and sometimes it doesn't do the job it claims to do.

Below: The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser
The Bodyshop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

On the positive side, when it works for me it primes and mattifies the skin leaving my face shine-free and my foundation lasting longer throughout the whole day which I love. I also find that it leaves my face feeling fresh and energized and feels so soft and supple. It doesn't do anything at all for my pores. I don't have like reallly big pores, I find they look fairly normal sized but I haven't noticed any of my pores minimising when I've used this unfortunately.

On the whole, I'm not entirely sure about how I feel about this product. It doesn't do anything for my problematic skin and sometimes the texture isn't the best. Maybe it's my skin, I don't know. I have to admit I am a little disappointed about the tea tree pore minimiser as I love the rest of the tea tree products I've tried by the body shop.

I personally wouldn't purchase this again as I find the texture isn't the best for just 30ml of product at the price of £7.50.

If you'd like to try it out yourself and purchase it you can get it online here.

Beauty Products on Trial #2

Hello beauties
I have decided to make Beauty Products on Trial a regular thing on my blog as my first post was quite popular.
I guess you could call me a shopaholic, I am always looking for the next best thing in terms of beauty products and I am always trialling and trying out new products. Today I thought I would share with you the products that I am trialling at the moment and give each product a little review and tell you my first impressions.

Disclaimer: Products mentioned with an asterisk(*) have been gifted to me in turn for a review but the majority of products have been purchased by myself.

Sleek Blush by 3 in 'Pink Lemonade'
I have wanted this ever since it was released. I was hoping to receive it for my birthday but I didn't get it(boo!) so I purchased it a few weeks later. Isn't it just the most beautiful palette? I am very much a girly girl and mostly wear corals and pinks on my cheeks to give me that healthy glow so this seemed perfect for me.
I have used this just the once or twice so far as I haven't had many reasons to wear makeup at the moment but boy do I love it. It contains 2 powder blushes either side of the palette and a cream blush in the middle. I'm not much of a cream blush gal but I can't wait to try this one out, all the shades are just gorgeous. As always each blush has great pigmentation and looks really great once blended in.

Monu Brightening Boost*
Oh my, I think I am in love with this product! I think this is the first time I've really loved a product after just the first or second use. I have applied this under my daily moisturiser in the morning and evening and I have seen a great difference to my skin, I am so impressed. It gives my skin an almost luminous, glowing effect that I really quite like. On the one time I used this I applied my makeup afterwards and it made my face look very healthy. I can imagine this being a staple in my skincare routine this spring/summer.
I will have a full review up sometime in the next few weeks so keep your beady eyes out for that.

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz
I only purchased this little beauty a few weeks ago(you can see my Boots haul here) and I have been using it daily, both day and night and I am loving it so far. I must admit I have seen a great difference to my skin. I use this after cleansing and it gives my face an instant refresh and closes up all the pores and tightens my face a little, not to a great extent though. I just love this. Keep your eye out for a full review over the next week or two.

SEVENTEEN Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in 'Pink Bronze'
I bought this about a month ago now and I have used this a few times now. I use the shimmer brick as a highlighter and apply it along my cheekbones and blend in to give my face a lovely glowing effect. I absolutely love it, I can see myself using it a lot this spring/summer. It might just replace my beloved MAC soft and gentle.

Have you tried any of these products?

The Best Eye Makeup for Your Eye Colour

Hello beauties!
As a young teenage girl I experimented a helluva lot with every possible colour under the sun. You name it, I've worn it. If you could see me 5 years ago while I was at school you'd honestly let out a huge laugh. I sported a nice black eye makeup look which I thought looked pretty bad ass at the time but looking back now I honestly think it was the worst makeup mistake I could've possibly made. Oh how I wish I had a picture to show you all so you could have a laugh at my expense.

Anyway a few years ago on one of my little lazy days I scoured the internet for hours looking up on what shades suit my eye colour and I came across a makeup colour wheel and found it super helpful.

It is so so important to consider your eye colour when deciding on what eye makeup to use. If you use the wrong eye makeup colour it can look quite harsh and doesn't make your eyes stand out at all.

To my knowledge the best possible way to find the best eyeshadow shade for your eye colour is to have a look at the colour wheel.
The opposite shades to your eye colour on the colour wheel are the shades that will work best for your eye colour.

Green Eyes

This is my eye colour. If you take a look at the colour wheel you can see that red toned colours will compliment my eyes the most. You can pair green eyes with pinks, burgundys, purples and you can also wear browns with a red undertone. I find that the most dramatic shades to use on my eyes are purples and burnt orange shades. Antique and Nocturnelle from MAC are great examples that you can pair with green eyes.

Blue Eyes

Again, if you take a look at the colour wheel you can see that warm orange toned colours will work well for those gorgeous blue eyes such as gold, browns and greys. To make your eyes look more dramatic you can use bulging bright purples or bright pinks if you wish.

Brown Eyes

If you have beautiful brown eyes then you're lucky, this is the most versatile eye colour. A huge variety of colours will suit your eye colour very well. To make those eyes pop you can use blue, green, purple or browns.

Hazel Eyes

Hazel eyes are absolutely beautiful, they are brown-green with lovely flecks of gold or grey.  To make the most of this gorgeous eye colour use green, browns and golds, they really bring the eyes out.

I hope this helped you out ladies! Check out the colour wheel to find out what colours compliment those beautiful eyes and make them stand out.

My Skincare Routine

Hello lovelies!
As someone that has oily/acne prone skin I find it incredibly difficult to find products that don't break me out or exacerbate the problem.
I always do the four basic steps; cleanse, tone, treatment and moisturise although on those lazy days I slack with my skin routine completely and sometimes just do the cleansing and treatment without the moisturiser and a toner, oops.

I do tend to change up my skincare every so often, maybe every 3 months or less as I always like to try new products out but I have been using these products for the last few weeks and they have been working wonders for my skin.

I thought I would show you the products I use both day and night in my skincare routine with mini reviews about every product.

Cleansing, Toning, Treatment

Skincare Routine
Skincare Routine

Olay Gentle Cleanser Conditioning Milk | Superdrug
I have been using this for so long now, I first purchased it 2 or 3 years ago and I've been repurchasing it ever since. I always use this cleanser first to remove all of my makeup including my eye makeup too. It's very gentle on the skin and you can use it no matter what skin type you have.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser | The Bodyshop
I have been using this cleanser for the last 6 months, maybe more and I absolutely love it, I've repurchased it so many times. I always double cleanse and I always use this one after using the Olay Cleansing Milk. It makes my face feel automatically refreshed and does a great job of getting rid of any dirt and left over makeup on the skin.

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz | Boots
This is a new addition to my skincare routine, I have been using it for a few weeks now and I have noticed a great difference to my skin after I use it. I spritz this onto my face  after I've rinsed off my Body shop cleanser and sometimes throughout the day whenever my skin needs an instant refresh or pick me up. I just love this!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus+ | Boots
This is my second purchase of this and I can't imagine my life without it. As I have acne prone skin I always rely on this to clear up those random breakouts. I have a full review on this beauty here if you'd like to know more.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil | The Bodyshop
I always have a spare bottle of this in my skincare drawer, it comes in handy in so many ways. I use this on spots around the jawline and neck area as it does a great job of reducing inflammation and getting rid of those ugly acne scars.

Moisturise

Skincare Routine

Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid for Sensitive Skin | Superdrug
I love this moisturiser, it's great value for money. It makes my skin feel amazingly soft and provides a great base to glide on my foundation.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer | Origins
This is a new addition to my skincare routine. I switch between this and the Olay moisturizer depending on how I feel on the day. The GinZing moisturizer smells absolutely divine, it reminds me of Terry's chocolate orange. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and also gives my skin an extra boost making it look luminous.

Exfoliate

Skincare Routine

St Ives Apricot Blemish Fighting Scrub | Superdrug
My #1 exfoliating scrub is this, the St Ives Blemish Fighting Scrub. Although it claims to fight blemishes I quite frankly don't think it does that at all but it's great for sloughing off all the dead skin on my face. It makes my face feel so soft like a babys bottom. I have a review on this product here if you'd like to know more.

Face Masks

Skincare Routine

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Pore Purifying Clay Mask | Boots
I don't want to say too much about this face mask as I will have a review coming up on this soon. I use this face mask on those days that my face feels overally oily. After using this I noticed that the oil had reduced and my face felt fresh and clean without any dryness or tightness.

Origins Clear Improvement Mask | Origins
My #1 face mask ever I have to say and I've used so many. This is without doubt the greatest skin saviour for those days you get those unexpected breakouts. You know what I mean? One minute your skin's in great condition and the next you get random spots popping up on your forehead, chin, even beside the nose and near the jawline(they're the worst!). I can't rave about this face mask enough. If you'd like to know more check out my review on it here.

Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat | Review

Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat
Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat

Hello lovelies!
A few weeks ago I was browsing through my local Boots and Superdrug store looking for the Aussie Take the Heat leave in spray and it was nowhere to be found so I went on the hunt for a new heat protector and lo and behold I found one in the form of Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat Conditioning Spray.
Okay, so I don't stray far on the haircare side but I can't fault any of the products I have tried before hence why I decided to go for something in the Aussie hair family.

Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat is a lightweight conditioning spray which you can spritz onto your hair to protect your hair from the heat such as hair tools like curling irons, straighteners, hair dryers and from the sun, obviously.
You can spritz it into either wet or dry hair, whatever you prefer. I tend to use it after I've had a bath/shower or after washing my hair. I only spray it from the middle of my hair to the ends, not from the roots as I found it can make the roots feel a little too greasy so bare that in mind.

Apart from that it is such a dream to work with, it's got the most divine scent as all Aussie products do and it most definitely does the job.
I find that after using this spray it leaves my hair feeling amazing, it detangles my hair and gets rid of frizz leaving my hair with soft, nourished locks. It also gives your hair a lovely  healthy looking shine and puts a little bit of 'oomph' into the hair. That's great news for my very fine, short hair.

I give Aussie a massive thumbs up, yet another product I am impressed with. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

You can purchase this in your local Boots or Superdrug store or on Boots online here for just £4.49. They always have offers on Aussie, in fact Boots have a offer on, if you buy any selected toiletries you get a free sample of John Frieda Frizz Ease.

Have you tried the Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat spray?

Barry M Nail Paint Picks for Spring/Summer

Hello lovelies!

I am completely obsessed with Barry M Nail Polishes. I have collected so many in a short period of time. I can't go into a Boots or Superdrug store without browsing through the Barry M polishes and 'accidentally' picking another one up. They all look so enticing and so so so beautiful the way they're all laid out on the Barry M counter. So many rows of stunning, vibrant shades of nail polish with various different finishes and effects.

I admit I am not very experimental when it comes down to nail art or glittery polishes. I like my nails to look simple, vibrant and 'out there' so I always seem to steer clear of the nail polish effects polish but I'd love to experiment with them more. Lately I have been opting more for the basic Barry M Nail Paints than anything else.

I have a roundup of my favourite Barry M Nail Paints that are absolutely perfect for this Spring and Summer.

Barry M Nail Paint for Spring and Summer

Barry M Nail Paint for Spring and Summer

Barry M Nail Paint for Spring and Summer

Berry Ice-Cream is a beautiful purply/lilac shade which looks almost pastel like which I absolutely love. It takes at least 2 to 3 coats until it looks completely opaque because it looks quite sheer once you apply the first coat. This polish would look great on pale or tanned skins. Unfortunately I can't tan(boo!) so I'll be whacking out the fake tan this Spring and Summer.

Peach Melba is a lovely orangey/peach shade that I absolutely adore, it's in fact one of my favourites. You can apply 1 to two coats of this polish for a pastel like sheer finish or 2-3 coats of it until it's completely opaque. This shade I imagine would look great on olive/tanned skin tones and also light-fair skin tones too.

Mint Green is a really soft pastel green shade which is yet again another one of my favourite polishes. This is the definition of Spring right here! Pastels are so on trend right now. If you're not into wearing pastel clothing then why not pop this little beauty on your fingertips?

Pink Flamingo is actually the first Barry M polish I ever bought. It's a vibrant and striking pink polish that looks amazing on tanned skin. I wore this polish through most of the Summer last year and the beginning of this year and loved it. It is one of my most loved polishes.

Matt White is a basic white polish that would look great all year round and gives a lovely fresh, clean look. You'd have to use at least 2 coats of this polish to get a fully opaque look. If you're not into very bold and 'out there' shades then I would recommend you try this out for the Spring/Summer. You never know, you just might like it.

Boots Haul #1

Hello lovelies!
It seems that haul posts are becoming a regular thing on my blog lately over the last few weeks. Oh dear! I am not at all good at saving money nor can I resist a good ol' sneaky peek on Boots website, even when I have no money. Why do I torture myself?

Anyway, after a long few hours of browsing through the site I ended up with a couple of things in my basket and headed for the checkout button and within a few days I had received my box of goodies.

I have already started getting some use out of a few of these and I'm super excited to try out the rest of them.

Boots Beauty Haul

Boots Beauty Haul

Boots Beauty Haul

I have been running out of my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + so I had to purchase another. I can't do without this beauty, it is an absolute skin saviour for those with acne prone skin. I have a review up on this product here if you want to know more about it.

I have short, thin hair and I really struggle to put some texture and 'oomph' into my hair. I came across soo many rave reviews about the L'oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray so I had to add it to my basket. I am really looking forward to trying it out.

The Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz was a little bit of an impulse buy. It happened to be in the save up to 1/2 price skincare section and I added it to my basket. I have been using this in the morning and before I go to bed over the last few days and I am lovinggg it.

Last february it was my birthday and I was really hoping to receive the Sleek by 3 Pink Lemonade as a gift but I didn't(cry face) so I decided to pick it up and I am so happy I have it. It is honestly so beautiful, I'm in love! I really can't wait to use it.

I also got an Invisibobble in white, they come in a pack of three. It was yet again an impulse buy but for £3.75 I couldn't resist. The majority of the time I have my hair up and I get really horrible kinks in it so this is a saviour.

I'm sure you have more or less heard about this face mask millions of times, the Soap and Glory No Cloggs Allowed Super Self Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask. Phew, what a long name. Another impulse buy(shock!) but I had seen a lot of positive reviews beforehand. I am face mask mad lately, I can't wait to try it out.

Last but not least is the Garnier Micellar Water. I was telling myself to steer away from the micellar water hype, it lasted until very recently when I spotted this in the save up to 1/2 price skincare section on the Boots website. I still haven't tried this out yet, it's a change from my normal cleanser.

Have you tried any of these products?
