NOTD | Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Sugar Apple

I am completely hopeless when it comes down to my nails. I don't take care of them as much as I should and I guess you could say that they've been neglected, particularly over the last two years. I used to be an avid nail paint wearer and that slowly subsided, until now that is.

I think the bright, sunny weather is what got me painting my nails again. I love wearing brighter colours on my nails from neon pinks to oranges but I opted for a minty green shade that I hadn't used before. In fact I think the majority of my nail polish collection is nearly completely unused, oops. The minty green shade in question is the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Sugar Apple'.

I bought it on a whim when mint nails were all the rage last year and I have to say I adore the colour. At least two applications were enough to make the colour completely opaque which is a good sign. As Sugar Apple is in the Gelly range it does have a slight sheen effect but it doesn't last for long which is a shame.

They lasted just one day before I started noticing the polish chipping but it might not be down to the polish. I work as a sales assistant so that involves some heavy lifting. I also didn't apply a top or base coat as I don't have any in my collection. That's another thing or two on my to buy list.

Overall, I absolutely adore the colour, it's just a shame it didn't last for long before it showed signs of chipping. The Barry M Sugar Apple Gelly Nail Paint is also super cheap at just £3.99. The Barry M Polishes are quite impressive with the shade range and finishes. I have my fair share of them.

It's a miracle what nail polish can do. It really cheers me up and makes me feel more like me and a bit more confident.

Have you tried the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Sugar Apple? What polishes do you highly suggest I try? Do you have any top or base coat recommendations?
