Maybelline Creamy Mattes and Loaded Bolds Lipstick with Swatches
Maybelline are on fire with their newest releases lately. The summer releases absolutely blew me away, but now we are in Autumn and we are being hit left right and centre with more brand new releases. Recently Maybelline introduced some more new Color Sensational Lipsticks into the mix, and let me tell you, they are so so beautiful. They are in an entirely new matte formulation which are split into two different collections, *Creamy Mattes and *Loaded Bolds.
The Creamy Mattes contain a variety of four different shades with deep blue lids to separate them from the Loaded Bolds, which also contain four different shades but with light blue lids. There is a shade to suit all skin tones. There are pinks, nudes and even deep vampy shades which are the epitome of Autumn.
The Creamy Mattes collection consists of Blushing Pout(light pink nude), Rich Ruby(medium-dark red with cool undertones), Burgundy Blush(dark burgundy) and Clay Crush(a light-medium, peachy-brown). They are so pigmented within the first swipe and glide so effortlessly onto the lips like butter. They also have a satin finish but within a couple of hours they start to dry down and wear off. I must also stress that they are not smudge proof and do transfer which is a little annoying. My favourite shade out of the four is Clay Crush. I was actually quite apprehensive about trying it at first as it's one of those shades that either suit you or washes you out, but it was surprisingly wearable and suited me down to a tee. I love it!
The Loaded Bolds collection include Orange Danger(vibrant orangey-red), Fiery Fuschia(medium-dark fuschia), Midnight Merlot(dark vampy plum) and Berry Bossy(dark berry). They are loaded with pigment with an opaque, creamy clay base finish. They are all very wearable shades. I am surprised that I came to love the darker shades within the collection as I wouldn't normally considering I am very much a nude gal. I will be getting a lot of wear out of the shades Berry Bossy and Midnight Merlot during the Autumn and Winter, that's for sure. These are also not smudge proof so taking your lipstick on the go is a must for touch ups.
