We're only two days away from the big day, Christmas, and I am way too excited for the day to arrive. As a child I used to stay up until 10pm watching Christmas films with my family and wake up on Christmas Eve as early as I possibly could, jump on my parents beds with excitement and persuade them to let me open up my presents, along with my brother and sisters. Although I am now worlds away from my childhood Christmas there is still so much to be excited about as an adult. It feels weird to say that I am an adult and yes, whilst it is scary, there is a LOT to look forward to. I now have a fiancee, a beautiful boy and another one on the way to spend the next god knows how many years of Christmasses with. It is going to be a joy to wake up every Christmas Day and see that same excited smile on my little boys face(and this next baby of course) as I did all those years ago. Now I find that I am rambling on and getting a little bit emosh, as you do. I didn't make the best effort of announcing the big pregnancy did I? *head in hands emoji*.
Anyway, I was meaning to pop my Chistmas gift guide up back in the middle of November and that clearly didn't happen did it? What can I say, things can get a little bit busy over here in our household with the Christmas preparations, Alfies bithday and the new pregnancy. There's been very little time for me to sit back, relax and get back onto my favourite part of the internet.
Being a complete makeup junkie I thought it would only be right to bring you a gift guide solely for those with a love for everything makeup, skincare, body care and fragrance. It's officially Christmas Eve Eve so we are only 2 days away from the big day. If you're struggling on ideas for your last minute dash to the shops then I'd like to think I can help you there.
Starting with Skincare, Skin Chemists can bea liiiitle pricey when it comes down to their products, most of which are around the £100 mark, but that's a price you have to pay for good quality skincare with the best skin loving ingredients. A range that has quite impressed me is the Caviar range, two products in particular, the *Advanced Caviar Facial Serum and the *Caviar Night Moisturiser. The Facial Serum is designed to boost, hydrate and smooth the skin with a little help from the wonderful ingredients, Caviar Extract, Aloe Vera and Seaweed Extract. It did a fab job of moisturising my skin, getting it back to it's normal state after the cold weather wreaked havoc on it. As for the Night Moisturiser, it smells absolutely divine and leaves my skin feeling as soft as a babys bum. Although they are luxurious and expensive I happened to see that both products have been reduced online. TheFacial Serum and the Night Moisturiser are now reduced at a special price of £19.99 each. If that wasn't enough I also have a discount code which will give you 70% off the range up until the 30th of December. All you have to do is use the code 'CAVBLOG1'.
The YSL Black Opium Eau De Parfumis the perfect gift, with the beautiful glitter bottle and irresistable scent, it's bound to make one girl very happy this Christmas. It is my favourite, with a special concoction of Vanilla, Black Coffee and White Florals. Black Opium comes in three different sizes, 30ml, 50ml and 90ml. For a 30ml bottle it is £42.30, for a 50ml it is £65.50 and a 90ml is £87. Bare in mind that a 30ml bottle has lasted me a while so you don't need to spend too much.
The Baylis and Harding Beauticology Soldier Cracker Gift Setis super adorable, not to mention very inexpensive at just £5. It would make a great stocking filler. Within the cracker you'll find two mini sized products, a Cherry Candy Cane Body Wash and Pink Peppermint Candy Swirl Body Butter. Very festive eh? Available to buy in Boots stores.
Another fabulous stocking filler is the *Roger & Galett Bois D'Orange Mini Gift. Inside is a Bois D'Orange Hand and Nail Cream alongside a 1.2ml sample size fragrance. It will sure come in handy for anyone who's suffering from dry hands this Winter. It is available to buy online and in store from M&S for just £6.
Soap and Glory always bring out the best Gift Sets come Christmas. There's something for everyone for different budgets. My personal favourite is the Soap and Glory Get into the Smooth set, a trio of sensationally scented body butters, and it's only £7.50. If that isn't a good deal then what is? It's currently sold out online as far as I can see but hopefully you may be able to bag one in your local Boots store.
Another gift set that is great value for money is the Sleek Mini Matte Me Collection. Inside there are four mini sized Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks in surprisingly wearable shades for just £5. Considering a full size Matte Me Liquid Lipstick is £4.99 alone that is seriously good. It seems to have sold out on Boots online so it's probably best to take a peek inside the shop, you never know, you may be lucky enough to find one. If not then you can always buy a full size liquid lipstick or two, perhaps three.
An eyeshadow palette that is sure to make someones heart melt is the Stila Eyes are the Window Soul Palette. It is aesthetically pleasing with copper packaging and 12 creamy, blendable eyeshadow shades, perfect for daytime AND night looks. It might seem a bit steep at £30 but it is truly beautiful. You can purchase it online from Cult Beauty or M&S. Stila is also available in various M&S stores too.
Now onto highlighting, one of my favourite subjects, and possibly one of the best 'inventions' ever. It takes ones complexion from dull to glow and one of the best products to do just that is theSleek Solstice Highlighting Palette. It's so affordable too at £9.99 and can be found online or in Boots stores. Perfect for those with a love for highlighting.
I really hope this helped you with your last minute shopping. I hope you have an amazing Christmas and New Year!
