Dr Botanicals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream | Review

I am always chopping and changing my skincare routine, especially where moisturiser is concerned. My skin is combination so it's oily in my t-zone and somewhat normal/dry elsewhere. It changes all the time, in fact it's become even more difficult to control since I became pregnant, which as you can imagine is really frustrating. For the last couple of months I have been using a new night time moisturiser within my routine, the Dr Botancals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream. It is quite a mouthful to say aloud.

Dr Botanicals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream

Dr Botanicals is a brand that I have never tried before but all of their products are made from natural ingredients which are free from harmful preservatives and parabens which is of course a great thing. Their products are also never tested on animals either which I am so happy about.

The Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream is formulated with three main ingredients, Pomegranate Oil, Goji Berries and Shea Butter. Pomegranate Oil helps to reduce inflammation and promote an even skin tone, but it also provides protection against sun damage too. Goji Berries are renowned for being high in antioxidants which protects your skin by fighting against free radicals to keep skin ageing at bay and Shea Butter(which is rich in vitamins and fatty acids) makes your skin feel nourished and hydrated.

It is essentially an Overnight Moisturiser which is designed to combat environmental pollution, skin ageing and skin stress over the course of 8 hours at night. It is unlike any other moisturisers I've used in the past as it's actually a balm rather than a cream formula. It comes packaged within a rather small 30ml jar which I was initally quite concerned about but it seems I had no reason to worry as it barely looks like I've made a dent in it. I can see it lasting me an awfully long time.

To apply the cream/balm I simply scoop out a small amount with my finger, rub it between my hands and massage onto my face and neck. It applies rather well and melts into an oil when in contact with the skin, which I quite like. Originally it felt quite greasy on the skin but it fully soaked into the skin within minutes. I noticed a difference almost immediately come morning the first time I used it. My face looked and felt entirely different, but in a good way. My skin tone was evened out and it left my skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth and hydrated. I absolutely love it.

The downside is that it's quite pricey though as it's £74.90. If I'm honest I couldn't imagine myself forking out over £70 for a moisturiser. It's just too steep for me as a soon to be mum of not one, but two children. It is so wonderful though. It's such a shame that it's not more affordable. If you'd like to try it yourself you can purchase it here. You can also find the brand stocked on Look Fantastic too!
