Trying Palmer's Cocoa Butter Face Care

You may have heard of the brand Palmer's because of their notorious Cocoa Butter body care range. I absolutely loved it, the body lotion has served me well for years. Little did I know that they had a new and improved Cocoa Butter face care range, until recently. The range consists of seven products, the Ultra Gentle Cleansing Oil, Cleanser & Makeup Remover, Perfecting Facial Oil, Moisturising Day Cream, Night Cream, Exfoliating Facial Scrub and Enzyme Mask. They've pretty much covered every skincare product you'd possibly need in a skincare routine.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Face Care

As you'd expect every product is completely natural, containing ethically and sustainably sourced cocoa butter. They are also packed with natural oils such as botanical oils, evening primrose and aloe. In addition to that they are MI free, Paraben free, phythlate free and tested by dermatologists.

I've been trying out two products from the Cocoa Butter face care range for the last month or so and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Admittedly I was apprehensive at trying the range at first as I wasn't quite sure how my skin would react to using cocoa butter infused products on my face. I guess that's because I have been so used to using their body care. I was worried that perhaps my pores would get clogged and make me break out, but thankfully it did not.

My favourite of the two I've tried is the Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil(£7.99). I've only ever tried one cleansing oil before this, the Nuxe Cleansing Oil, and I absolutely loved it so I was instantly intrigued to try Palmer's version of the Cleansing Oil. You can immediately smell the sweet scent of the cocoa butter as soon as you dispense it, it's absolutely divine. I need to massage just two pumps of the oil onto my dry face for around two minutes and then remove with a wet cloth. It dissolves the majority of my makeup, although I sometimes need an extra pump if I'm wearing stubborn mascara that just won't budge.

It has a wonderfully light, silky consistency to it which feels so nice on the skin. After it's been rinsed off my face feels so soft and smooth, although there is a little touch of oily residue left over afterwards. That's not a problem for me as I use the cleansing oil as a first cleanse and then go in with a gel cleanser which then removes the residue.

It is an absolute dream to use, I have been using it non stop. I will undoubtedly be repurchasing once I've ran out, which won't be anytime soon. I haven't even got halfway through the bottle yet and it's been a month. I imagine it would last a while.

Now onto the Purifying Enzyme Mask(£5.49). It is effectively a clay mask. Formulated with Kaolin Clay and Papaya, its purpose is to exfoliate and smooth the skin while also clearing any impurities. To apply, I simply just smooth a thin layer all over my face, avoiding my eye area and wait 10 minutes for it to dry. It feels a little thick and creamy which I quite like, although it doesn't feel completely dry after leaving it for the full 10 minutes. I find that 20 minutes works a lot better for me.

After I've removed it with a wet cloth, I can definitely see quite a difference in my skin. My face feels a little tighter(although not dry) which in turn made my pores look smaller, and my skin feels a lot softer too. Any dry patches I had on my skin had disappeared, redness was reduced and my complexion looked brighter. Come morning any spots I had are less angry and not as noticeable. It's an absolute gem. Definitely one of those masks that does it all. At just £5.49 it's an absolute steal!
