Optiat The Hangover Coffee Scrub

As much as I like Autumn there is a few things that I dislike, the cold weather and dry skin. My body literally does not cope well during the colder months, urgh. I feel like I have to make much more effort with my skin as soon as the cold weather hits me. My hands get so dry and sore and the rest of my skin starts to dry out too. It's just not a pretty sight. Now, I don't mean to exaggerate it. My skin doesn't resemble a reptile, scaley and cracked, it's not that bad, but I like to make sure it is in the best condition. All I have to say is thank god for scrubs and moisturisers. I swear I must go through a fair few bottles/tubs of the stuff at this time of the year. In fact I've already got through a huge tub of the Soap and Glory body scrub, and I've nearly finished another.

Optiat The Hangover Coffee Scrub

Speaking of scrubs, I have been trying out a new one lately from Optiat. I initially heard about the brand through fellow bloggers and I was so impressed by the many wonderful reviews I had read. I have not read a single negative review, which made me instantly intrigued to see if it lived up to expectations, and so I eventually tried it for myself.

Let's start with a little bit of background on the brand shall we? Optiat was created by two siblings, a brother and sister duo, Anna and William Brightman. They believe in minimising the impact that we have on our environment by making use of natural ingredients that we would usually throw away, namely coffee grounds. Frrom this they decided to create body and face scrubs. The brand is cruelty free and vegan friendly, which makes the brand all the more appealing.

Now I have seen a lot of hype surrounding coffee scrubs but I have never actually tried one myself. I have been using the Optiat The Hangover Coffee Scrub over the last month or so to see if it makes a difference to my skin which as I've mentioned is quite literally as dry as the Sahara.

First off, the scrub comes packaged within a 30ml 'squeezy' tube with the name and scent/flavour of it on the front. I love that there's not too much going on, it's pretty simplistic which I like.

I have the scent 'Potent Peppermint', which is exactly that. It's extremely strong and minty, which is something that is definitely needed after a long night out, in order to make you feel more refreshed and awake come morning. If you're not keen on the scent of coffee then you must not fear, you can't detect it at all, which I'm so happy about. I just completely dislike the taste and smell of the stuff.

The scrub isn't as you'd expect it to appear, it's black but thick and gritty in texture which makes it so easy to remove any dry patches. It isn't harsh whatsoever, but you can definitely feel it doing something. It feels so cooling on the skin too, which is nice. I figured that must be down to the peppermint. It is so simple and easy to use. I use at least three to four 'blobs' straight from the tube for my whole body which I don't think is too much product compared to how much I would normally scoop out straight from my Soap and Glory tub.

After using the Optiat Coffee scrub I can honestly say that I can see and feel the difference. My skin feels much softer, smoother and just overall, incredible. I will certainly be repurchasing once I've ran out, which I'm hoping won't be anytime soon. Vanilla Velvet and Mouthwatering Mandarin is next on my list.

Each coffee scrub retails at £9.99 for a full size tube, but you can also find them in a travel size too for £6.99. You can check them out here. I think they're very reasonably priced. I honestly believe that you get what you pay for here. I mean, a brand that is vegan friendly AND cruelty free? You just can't beat that.

Have you tried the Optiat Coffee Scrub?
