What I got for Christmas 2017

Can you believe that we are already two weeks into 2018? I feel like it is going way too quick for my liking, although saying that, I'm looking forward to my birthday next month, but hey, let's not jump too far ahead. It just feels so surreal. I think that may be down to the fact that I've been so busy, it's just whizzed past. We had Christmas with Josh's family and then we spent Boxing Day with my family and then we had Alfie's third birthday just 4 days after Christmas. I haven't really been able to catch my breath. Oh, and just when I was ready to come back to this blog after the New Year,  I was hit with a nasty cold. Urgh, if you know me well, you know something small like that just completely knocks me back.

With that little setback I wasn't able to share with you what I got for Christmas, until today. Now, I absolutely love reading those posts and watching the videos on YouTube too. I'm just so nosey and I love seeing what other people were gifted, so please bare in mind, I am in no way 'showing off'. I simply love these posts, and I hope you do too, and well, if you don't, god knows why you're here. I have only ever done one 'What I got for Christmas' post, but that goes back four years ago. If you're interested to see what I was bought previously then you can check that out here. I'd like to point out that my photography has changed so much since then, and I'm so proud of it.

What I got for Christmas 2017

I was spoilt so much this year by my family. Pretty much everything I got was beauty related. Hardly surprising is it? I knew of everything I was getting from Josh and the boys, mainly because I am told I am difficult to buy for. Josh was so unsure on what I did or didn't have already so I just gave him a few hints when I saw something I liked. I know it's not all about presents but I am so grateful for everything I got. I know I will get a hell of a lot of use out of everything.

The Stila sets were on my Christmas list from the get go. I had wanted to try the Magnificent Metal Liquid Eye Shadows for so long but I was so put off the price. I mean, £23 for an eyeshadow I have never tried before? Nope, it was never gonna happen. I was super happy that I got both the Written in the Stars and Eye for Elegance sets. I have already put them to good use, and oh my, they are a game changer.

I only ever tried one of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipsticks and the Vintage Vamp Palette from Charlotte Tilbury and I was so happy with them, it left me wanting more. I got the cute set of Mini Lipstick Charms in Hot Lips and the cult favourite Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk which I wanted for so long, but was always sold out. Luckily Josh seemed to nab it just in time as it is sold out yet again.

I received a few perfumes for Christmas this year. In fact I got three! Two from Josh and another from my grandparents. From Josh and the boys I got Ghost Girl and DKNY Fresh Blossom. Both fresh and fruity scents, but total opposites of one another. From my grandparents I got Marc Jacobs Dot to add to my ever growing Marc Jacobs perfume collection. I have quite a few Marc Jacobs perfumes already and I adore them. It smells amazing.

I got a few bits from MUA, namely highlighters. You know they're my weakness! I got the Prism Jelly Highlighter Palette in Spark and the Luxe Light Lustre Highlighter Duo in Lavish. I have used them already and they are such good quality for under £5. Yep, such a bargain right?

What I got for Christmas 2017

Some things I have wanted for the longest time, in fact, well over the year is from Too Faced. The Too Faced Hangover Face Primer and the Hangover 3 in 1 Primer and Setting Spray were being raved about by my favourite youtubers, and well, that instantly made me want them. Now I finally have them, I am so excited to give them a go!

Last year was the year that I really got into Jouer Cosmetics. The Lip Cremes, Highlighters and Lip Toppers literally blew my mind! So quite rightly I added most of the Christmas gift sets onto my list, and voila, I got them all. I didn't expect Josh to get every single set, but oh my bloomin' god. I was so happy, I felt like bursting into tears. The three sets I received was the Highlighter Trio Set 2, Best of Nudes Mini Lip Cremes and the Best of Lip Toppers Collection

Something that may be perhaps a little boring to you, but not at all to me are the Bilou Shower Foams. I have the Cotton Candy and Tasty Donut scents which I can only describe as heavenly. I am a sucker for sweet scents so they suit me perfectly.

If you're still here reading halfway then I applaud you. There's still a few bits left to go through!

I got three NYX gift sets which I was completely thrilled with. I don't have a NYX stand in my local Boots which is just, well, rubbish. There's so much I want to try but no opportunity to even swatch anything so I have to go by swatches online all the time. I have the Ready, Prep, Go Travel Kit as well as the #GlitterGoals Kit and Matte vs Metals Lip Vault Set. I'm looking forward to delving right into these sets. Let's hope 2018 is the year we finally get a NYX stand!

I also got two of the Real Techniques Blush Crush Brushes which are just so very 'me'. I mean, pink and glittery? Yes please! I am just gutted that they are only Limited Edition. I have the brushes meant for powder and contour, which is actually quite handy as I needed new brushes for those particular purposes.

And lastly is the lovely pearl set that I also got from my grandparents. It contains a bracelet, necklace and three sets of earrings. It's a little out of my comfort zone, but I like that.

I also got some other bits and pieces too which I didn't feel was necessary to feature. Josh and the boys got me the Soap and Glory Spa of Wonder Gift Set, which will undoubtedly keep me stocked up for months to come. I also got a manicure set from Josh's parents and tins of sweets, shortbread etc. My parents always get us a food and drink hamper every year which I love too.

Well, there we go. That's everything I got for Christmas. I am so thankful for everything I got. I have been well and truly spoilt. I hope I didn't bore you all after that long post. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and have an even better 2018! Last year was incredible. I had another beautiful boy and I worked with some amazing brands and PR. I'm hoping this year will top that!

What did you get for Christmas?
