Harrisons Eight Month Update

So, the last time I sat down to update you on Harrison was when he was three months old(see that update here), but now we fast forward a couple of months and he's just turned eight months. How crazy is that? So much has been happening lately. You may have read that I am expecting again this June(read the announcement post here), just 10 days before Harrison's first birthday so it's been rather hectic to say the least. I always said I wanted to post monthly updates to show how he was developing but that obviously never happened. I will not be able to keep up with it now either which is a shame, although I'll make sure to update you every once in a while with how he's getting on.

The past eight months have gone by in a blink of an eye. We started weaning Harrison onto food as soon as he turned 6 months. The first spoonful of food he'd taken, he looked unsure about, but he soon got used to it. He's now having three small, light meals a day with a few snacks in between which he seems to enjoy but it doesn't seem to fill him up as he still wants his bottle. Alfie was like it too. Maybe he's just a really hungry baby, haha.

As you can imagine he has gotten so much bigger and stronger now. Just a couple of weeks ago he started crawling, and then continued on to sit up on his own without support too. And if that wasn't enough, he said his first word too, which was so unexpected but so sweet. His first word was 'mumma', exactly like Alfie, which I was overjoyed about, although he is still yet to say 'dada'. He only ever seems to say it when he's feeling a little grouchy or tired though, but it's still sweet.

Now that Harrison is getting a lot bigger now and more active, Alfie seems to giving him more affection and attention than ever before. It's so nice seeing them bond and play together. It's a beautiful vision to see. I cannot wait until Harrison is a little old enough so they can do so much more together. Of course there is going to be another huge change with another boy on the way in a couple of months time but I am sure they will take to him really well.

I actually managed to get a cute snap of the boys while they were still(which is very rare) so I thought I'd include it here. I know I haven't spoken much about Alfie over the last three years here on the blog but he is doing so well. He started nursery over a year ago and he's doing incredibly well. He never fails to surprise me when he comes home and tells me what he's learnt. Alfie is so intelligent and the most cheekiest chappy I know. The terrible twos were the worst for me. The earlier days were a breeze compared to last year, believe it or not. He had the worst tantrums known to man and he liked to get his own way. He seems to have calmed down a lot now though. I don't know whether that's down to him being a brother to Harrison, or just a change in his development and his behaviour.

There is going to be a lot of change happening this year. Not just because baby boy number three will be arriving but we are looking to move too. With another baby on the way our house is far too small for us all so we are on the lookout for somewhere a bit bigger and hopefully still close to where we are still living now. Fingers crossed we will find the right house before our little boy is here.

I am so excited with what's to come and I will make sure to update you on how we're getting on!
