Kiko Milano Gold Waves Summer Collection | Gold Waves Blush and Highlighter

A few weeks ago myself, Josh and Alfie, alongside my younger sister took a rare day trip out to Exeter, whilst Harrison spent some quality time with his grandparents. We had a wonderful time! Alfie made his very first Build a Bear and me and my sister shopped until we literally dropped. Retail therapy was exactly what I needed, despite being run off my swollen feet. For the first time I actually had some restraint. I didn't buy as much as I usually would, which not only surprised me, but Josh too.

While I was in Exeter I spotted that there was a brand new Kiko Milano store. I have never tried anything from Kiko before, but they are a brand that I'd wanted to try this year, and alas I have. As soon as I entered the store, I was drawn to the first stand which was full of their brand new Summer Collection called Gold Waves. I pretty much wanted everything but I restrained myself and only bought two products from the collection.

The Gold Waves collection is all about illuminating your skin with golden highlights and enhancing your features, whilst still looking natural, which is exactly what I love, though I'm realistically as pale as a ghost so I need a little help in that department.

Now, as I mentioned, I only purchased two products from the collection, but there is 16 in total to choose from-The Gold Waves Lip Oil, Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter, Cream Foundation, Powder Foundation, Eye Perfector Brush Kit, Radiant Face Brush Kit, Pochette, Fluid Foundation, Metallic Eyeshadow, Rolling Eyeliner, Makeup Blender Kit, Mascara, Lipliner and finally, the Matte Lip Stylo, all of which come in a variety of different shades(brush kits, pochette and mascara aside).

There is so much to choose from as you can tell. I am shocked I only came away with two products(well, for now anyway). I picked up a Gold Waves Blush and a Gold Waves Highlighter.

Before I go on and rant and rave about them, well, can we take a moment to admire that packaging? It was one of the things that drew me towards the collection. The compacts are dazzling gold with a cute wave design on the outermost part of the packaging with the Kiko logo in the middle. It fits firmly in the hand and it also houses a mirror inside which comes in handy if you're in need of a touch up or two during the day/night. It certainly looks really luxurious, and you know me, I am a sucker for pretty packaging. It easily has me sold!

Not that I really have a favourite of the two, but the Gold Waves Highlighter(£16.90) had me in love at first swatch. There are two different shades to choose from; 01 Golden Vibes and 02 Virtuous Golden Rose. Although they're both stunning, I decided upon Virtuous Golden Rose. The name of the highlighter speaks for itself, it's a rose gold shade with an iridescent sheen to it. Very pretty and unlike any other highlighter I currently have within my collection which I like.

As soon as you open the compact, you'll see that the highlighter has a pretty 3D wave effect to it which is a lovely touch. It has a beautiful, silky texture to it too which you can tell straightaway, as soon as you swatch it. It's very creamy, it almost feels as if it melts into the skin. I put that down to the Jojoba Oil within the formula.

The effects of the highlighter can be seen instantly, as soon as it comes in contact with the skin. You only need to tap your brush into it once to get that strong but natural glow as it's so pigmented. It's wonderful as I don't need to keep going back and forth to apply more to build it up(although I still sometimes do that, just because I like a really strong highlight).

Now onto the Gold Waves Blush(£16.90). There are three different options to choose from; 01 Sand Shore, 02 Coral Sunset and 03 Damask Mauve. I inititally wanted to buy them all as they're all such gorgeous shades but in the end I just went with 03 Damask Mauve as I don't have many shades like it in my makeup stash.

It's a gorgeous mauvey-pink with shimmer. It adds a very beautiful radiance to the skin which looks very natural. This also has a nice and comfortable, silky texture which makes blending in an absolute dream.(thanks again to the jojoba oil!). It has an entirely different design to it though. Instead of the 3D wave effect that the highlighter has, it has a marble design to it which I really love.

They both have a lovely vanilla scent to it too which is just delicious, although I inititally thought they smelt more like chocolate than vanilla, but then again, the scent doesn't matter all that much, as long as the product does it's job(which they both most certainly do!).

If you're lucky enough to live near a Kiko Milano store I seriously suggest you stop in and swatch everything in the Gold Waves Collection. You will not be disappointed. If not, then please do check out their site here. Now I'm off to dream about what could've been if I'd bought all of those Blushes. *enter crying emoji*. So gutted, but so impressed with my first Kiko Milano purchases.

Have you tried anything from Kiko Milano?
