Shopping My Makeup Stash

I find myself buying makeup now more than ever lately and old favourites of mine have been put to the back of my makeup drawers and forgotten about, and then replaced with new products. Having a makeup obsession is an extremely expensive habit, and I've decided to rein that in a bit, especially as it's coming up to the most expensive time of the year(Christmas). To save the pennies I've decided to shop my stash, which means I will be going through my makeup drawers and using up my old and forgotten products instead of purchasing anything new.

I haven't necessarily chosen one product per category; foundation, powder, concealer etc, but I've gone for a few products which I think deserves so much more love. There are a few makeup products which I was completely obsessed with at one stage, but soon got lost among the many new beauty launches I'd bought into.

First up for base makeup is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair(£4.19 £3.99). I can't even remember the last time I bought this concealer. I have bought so many different concealers over the last year, and I'm sad to say this may have been in my makeup drawers for a little longer. I'm so gutted that I've forgotten about this as it was my holy grail concealer for such a long time. It has always been great for covering up my under eye bags or imperfections(spots, scars etc), and it's so affordable too. There are a few more shades in their concealer range now which I absolutely love too. I'm happy to see Collection are now catering towards those with various skin tones. The Lasting Perfection Concealer still doesn't disappoint me to this day. The shade is perfect for my skin tone, it has incredible coverage AND it lasts well throughout the day.

Way back when(2016) there was a huge hype surrounding the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette(£43) and so I got it. I wanted to see what everyone was raving about so much. I was completely obsessed with this palette.  The pops of pink and the warm orange shades had me drawn in, and I used this on an almost daily basis for months. Sadly, this got lost among the many eyeshadow palettes that had launched since then. I am a sucker for a new eyeshadow palette, what can I say? I have been alternating between the Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions Palette and the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette for the last couple of months so I decided to switch it up and bring the Modern Renaissance Palette back out again. The formula of the ABH shadows are just perfect. So buttery and easy to blend, and the shades inside are incredibly perfect for this season. You can read a full review with swatches of this palette here if you'd like to know more.

I buy new highlighters quite often and when I find something I REALLY love I tend to stick with them for quite a while. Well, that's what happened when I purchased my first ever Ofra Highlighter. They are insanely pigmented! I do love to glow. Beforehand I was using my Jouer Rose Quartz Highlighter(£19). I haven't used anything but my Ofra Highlighters for the best part of half a year(yep, it's been a longgg time) so it's good to go back to an old favourite of mine. I had forgotten quite how pigmented and creamy the formula was. It glides on so smoothly, and doesn't emphasise my pores either. It's fab! For more details on it take a peek through the review here.

Now, I do like to contour and bronze up my face. In fact, it's an absolute must for me. Without it, I would look like a pale egg head. No kidding. I have been using the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette for god knows how long now, and I have neglected a few of my old favourites, namely my beloved Benefit Hoola Bronzer(£25.50 £22.95). It has a small brush inside(not pictured) which fits so well under the cheekbones to emphasise and define them, and it's the perfect shade for my fair skin. I really should use this more often. I really do love this.

Again, like my highlighters, I change up my mascaras all the time. It's so terrible as they dry up so quickly if they've been opened for so long. It has been nearly 2 years I'm afraid to say since I first opened the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara(£19), but it's not dried out as I'd expected luckily. It still applied really well without clumping up my eyelashes and added plenty of drama, while separating them too. I'm so glad I brought this one back out. I definitely need to use it up! I think it'll soon have it's day.

I have been using my Milani Baked Blushes for waaay too long now. I definitely am in need of a change, and to replace them for the time being is The Balm Frat Boy Blush(£16.75). God, I can't even remember the very last time I used it. It has been such a long time. At one stage, this was the only blush I had in my collection, and of course I used it every single day. I've barely made a dent in it though. This is such a beautiful blush. It's such a natural colour and it makes me look so healthy(even when I look a bit meh and ill).

And lastly for the lips are the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer(£17). I have two different options, the shade Cherry Pop and Beige Pop. Both of these were extremely loved. I used them so often, especially Beige Pop. It was my favourite nude lipstick. Since then, I've moved onto liquid lipsticks and they unfortunately got lost in the process. I'm so glad to have them back again though. They are so comfortable on the lips and so creamy. They do smudge a little though, especially cherry pop. That shade should definitely not be worn if you're hoping for a kiss, haha.

Have you shopped your stash? What products are you missing?
